It was fine but for what I spent on the room I could’ve went to a nicer place Likes: It was a great location, and it has an old school charm Dislikes: I expected it to be a little nicer than what it was… The plumbing was pulled out from the wall in the shower and the sink stopper wouldn’t raise so every time I turn the sink on I would have to peel up that stopper to get it to drain… The cable Was just a random box hanging in front of the TV, there was no microwave in the room, and no blow dryer…

Special gem of a hotel. The room is extremely comfortable, and the hotel is located, conveniently in the middle of everything. Having a hairdryer in the room would have made it A++

Mostly enjoyable place Likes: 15 min walk to the French Quarter and Stadium. Kevin was amazing taking time out of his day to assist us with ANYTHING. Dislikes: Hot water in shower lasted about 2 mins. Our shower didn’t drain. So u had to shower fast on both accounts

Good location for exploring New Orleans Likes: The hotel is located in the Warehouse District - a good location for accessing many parts of New Orleans on foot - including the WWII museum (5 min walk), Canal Street, Bourbon Street, the water front and the French Quarter (20 min walk). There are also some nice restaurants nearby for dinner and lunch. Dislikes: The fan in the room was quite noisy and it was not clear how to adjust the temperature. The bathroom was also a little dated.

UPDATE: I also want to shout out my girl Terica for taking care of us too! For going above and beyond accommodating us and making sure we were well taken care of! She’s an angel! ❤️ Kevin really made the experience for us!! I would not stay there agsin Likes: Good location. Comfortable beds. Dislikes: First room had no wardrobe and very dark. Moved rooms. second room still quite dark and smell of damp. Inadequate lighting in all rooms and small windows.

Updated rooms at a nice location Likes: We were greeted by extremely friendly and helpful host to start our stay. Updated and spacious rooms are kept very tidy. And we were able to store our luggage with the hotel until our late afternoon departure. Location is a quick walk to the French Quarter but far enough away to have a quiet night’s sleep.

This hotel was nice, and we felt very safe in this area. The hotel itself is pretty, some parts are a little outdated especially the bathrooms. Overall a nice place to stay.

I stayed there for a week with my dad and mom. The staff was absolutely fantastic and kind. Paul, Denise & Kevin shared with us great tips for brunch, and overall gave us recommendations to have the best experience! . We would 100% recommand this hotel if you plan to come to New Orleans. Location is great and the rooms are nice and clean. I am definitely coming back!

FANTASTIC OVERNIGHT VISIT Room was small but we did just fine. Considering when hotel was built king-size beds didn't exist. Ate dinner at the attached restaurant was was given SUPERB SERVICE. The meal was fantastic. I might suggest the meatball dinner for next visit. Front desk personnel went out of their way to insure our short visit was enjoyable, which it was. Highly recommend The Lafayette Hotel.

Un hôtel avec de charme, idéalement situé qui a parfaitement répondu à nos attentes à notre arrivée à NOLA. Likes: La localisation de l’hôtel est super. La taille des chambres également. L’hôtel est désuet mais cela donne un certain charme qui nous a plu. Dislikes: Chambre côté rue peut-être un peu bruyant. La salle de bain (propre) nécessiterait des travaux de rafraîchissement.

Great place great steak restaurant. Just needed lobby balconies maybe and sitting area outside. Likes: Great staff very attentive clean and pretty informative and helpful of anything I asked. Dislikes: I didn't like the no lobby or sitting area inside outside benches or something needed to sit people watch and for smokers .

Nice cozy hotel Likes: Friendly reception staffs. Exotic hotel building, the size of the room is fairly large. Lots of Windows can see the street view, mini fridge in the room is new and nice. The location is great, if you want to enjoy a little bit of quiet at night, probably the is district is what you will like. Dislikes: The room is a bit dark and the socket/outlet is a bit old, not very sensitive, especially the USB .

Great Hotel Before Cruise! Great hotel, older building but nicely updated rooms. Air conditioning worked great! Staff was super friendly. Several cute restaurants close by. Only complaint was the valet service staff, when we arrived several guys in valet service shirts were standing right in front of the door smoking and swearing loudly. Not the greatest first impression. But once we got inside, so lovely! We did not walk to the French Quarter, we are here for a cruise and wanted something close to the port. Would 100% stay here again.

Stayed here for recent New Orleans vacation. Good: King suite was maybe the largest hotel room I've stayed at in a hotel and bed was comfy. Location is great particularly if you're going to be spending time outside of the French quarter. Made good use of the streetcar, although the stop right outside the hotel is only useful if you're coming in or out of the Garden District. Bad: Staff just seemed a little checked out. Toilet in the bathroom kept having issues including once it took them over a hour to come up to unclog a toiler. Misc: I know some reviews mention the hotel being on the parade route. Double check which parade because its not on the Krewe of Boo Halloween parade route (that's 100% on me but figured worth a mention).

It has been years since I have been surprised in a good way by a hotel visit. The Lafayette exceeded my expectations in every way. My only disappointment, I did not make the time to write a letter on the antique writing desk in my room. If I were to choose two words to describe the hotel they would be "quiet excellence". Highly recommend.

I had a very nice stay at this hotel pre-covid. Unfortunately, my recent experience under LuxUrban ownership has been awful. Be very wary of making a reservation here. While the cancelation policy states that reservations are able to be canceled up to 24 hours prior to arrival for a full refund, this company makes it impossible to actually get your money back. They do not reply to cancelation emails. If you call to cancel the reservation you will still not recieve your refund. They will tell you that refunds will be processed in 30 days however, I am sitting here 31 days after canceling my reservation and still no refund or answers. Contacting LuxUrban directly did nothing but give me the runaround. While this may be an okay property, their handling of cancelations and refunds is frustrating and unethical. Be very careful booking this hotel.
