Very accommodating and a great experience!

This is the third time we have stayed here. We were in love after our first visit. It’s nice to see Skowhegan have a nice new place to stay. We love that they turned an old mill building into a hotel. The rooms are great, plenty of room for my small family of 3. The rooms are bigger than a standard hotel room. Prices have been great also. My only complaint is the TV’s. 2 out of the 3 stays we’ve had trouble with the tv’s they function fine, but they always freeze, we think it could be the wi-fi connections. TV in the living area worked perfect but tv in the bedroom kept freezing. But definitely not a reason to not return, it’s in a brick building we understand it can’t be perfect. Didn’t check out the bar but they had a live band which is great. Check in and check out was great with no complications. I actually enjoy the contactless check in and check out.

Great hotel, beautiful and large room with fabulous amenities. I was disappointed with the restaurant food. I ordered flammenkuchen but what I received wasn't anything like the dish I ate while living in Germany. My guests at dinner said the same about their orders.

I travel to the area frequently for work and was excited to try this newer property. The location, property and room were all beautiful and well maintained. The check in process was terrible. It took 45-minutes of on-line support while raining outside to gain access to the building, because no one is present on the property to assist. There was some type of error with my electronic check-in process which isn't unusual apparently, because there was another individual struggling with the same thing the following day. The walls and ceiling are all paper thin. I could hear everything going on in surrounding rooms to include quite phone conversations, loudly played music, and a pet constantly running around on the floor above me all night long. In summary, I will go out of my way to avoid staying at this location ever again. It's a shame. The property and surrounding area have so much potential!

Amazing stay in Skowhegan Fantastic hotel option in Skowhegan. Beautiful and airy room with high ceilings and top notch finishes. The space was very clean and spacious. Bathroom included fluffy towels and high end toiletries. Bed was very comfy and bedding was crisp and clean. Location is fantastic- very walkable and safe. Restaurant on site has delicious German menu offerings and the atmosphere is very quaint. Great local fare available for purchase in the gift shop located within the restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Skowhegan- I will be back!

Gorgeous rooms. Very family friendly. Had a great meal at The Biergarten. Didn’t even realize there was a great lounge downstairs until I went to the gym.

Very clean and nicely decorated. Kitchen could use a large pasta pot. Bathroom needs a light fixed. It was kind of dark. Bathroom door is very difficult to open and close.

Room was clean, modern with everything you need. Easy parking as well. Glad to see an old building reinvented for a good purpose

Very clean and modern room

Awesome spot I have to say I am shocked at how nice this hotel was, given it is in Skowhegan (no offense to the town), but I am a hotel snob and typically stay in W hotels or Ritz Carlton’s, and was here for a wedding in the area and this place is fantastic. Rooms are huge, clean, with plenty of parking and centrally located to walk to downtown. I will 100% stay here again. I also tried to upload a video of the room but TripAdvisor doesn’t do videos.

Great place to stay!

Terrible experience. Got back to our unit after a long day of apartment hunting. Open the door to the unit, wall of heat blasts out like a sauna. AC unit throwing an error code. We call right as we notice and we were told someone would be out and we would hear back before the night is over. Mind you this is at 8:30 at night. We are waiting for a call, about 10 o clock at night now. Decide to run to the Walmart up on Madison Avenue. Grab a thermostat to read how hot the room is. 82 degrees and dangerously high humidity. After calling back and voicing our concerns about a room that is quite literally, not habitable for human life. The response was "we have escalated this to our managers!" Same response at 8:30 when we originally called and were assured we would hear back before the night was late. We ended up leaving at midnight after still not having this resolved to head to a different hotel. Essentially they had us sitting in an 80+ degree sauna while they twiddled their thumbs for over 4 hours. Most fun part is they are still fighting us on the refund the next day as I am typing this. I know the hotel looks great from the photos but as others have stated the walls and floors are paper thin and you think you would have some sort of view here but you do not. It is not worth the stay considering if you have even the slightest issue they will drag their feet until 1 in the morning or worse. And also refuse to refund your abysmal stay. I hope this review finds the right eyes and wallets, don't let your stay turn out like ours and just up an avoid this entirely.

Very impressed with the Skohegan. I have stayed in a number of boutique hotels through out the country and The Skohegan is one of the best. The rooms are very large and comfortable with great amenities. The restaurant attached is also very good.

The room was perfect. Our only complaint was no one emptied the trash or removed the soiled towels, during our four days there. The restaurant was great, the staff was so accommodating. When we return to Skowhegan, we will stay there again.

Can’t wait to return Large, beautifully apportioned and designed hotel room. Had all the items necessary to stay for many nights on end. And the on-site restaurant is amazing with fresh and delicious local food. Will definitely be back again soon!

There is some neighbbor noise and we could hear beirgarten activity. It all settled down for a good night's sleep.

Well appointed, clean, and spacious room with nice amenities. Likes: The room was very spacious. Everything was new, clean and in perfect working order. Free parking. Decent WiFi. Beautiful gym with plenty of equipment. Great tv streaming options. Although no staff on site, responses from their app were always fast and helpful. Dislikes: Housekeeping services are a significant additional fee per clean if you elect to have them (the app quoted $85 per service for the type of room we had). We opted not to have housekeeping but were able to request additional towels for no charge. There was no option for early check in if you get to town early - the app only gives you the access information 10mins before the official check-in time (4pm). Since there’s no staff onsite, there’s no option to see if the room might be available in advance.

The room was absolutely gorgeous and very roomie. Parking was somewhat crowded at night so it was a little tricky finding a spot. Very beautiful place.

Everything is done just right to make for a memorable stay

I stayed here on the last minute for a work trip. I was blown away by the room, and the price was beyond reasonable for the amenities. only thing I could gripe about is the lack of an ice machine.

The place was very nice! I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay.

Would stay here again, for sure. Loved the self check in and comfortable room. Likes: Super clean and bed was really comfortable. Responsive via text when needed and cool location by the river. Dislikes: All was good. If I had to be nit-picky it would be that I could hear people in the next room a bit in the morning watching TV. But whatever.

Interesting stay Likes: Everything was clean, modern and the bed was super comfortable. Dislikes: While the shower looks amazing, the water pressure was seriously lacking. The rain shower didn't have enough pressure to fully wet my hair. Also, only a tiny trash can in the bathroom, no other trash can in the room was inconvenient.

This is the first time I’ve ever used a hotel with a virtual check-in and nobody onsite. Happy to say it was completely seamless! The hotel is brand new and beautifully appointed. I would’ve never guessed this was even here! Right next to downtown and has a restaurant onsite. Very clean and everything was great!

Disappointed to say the least for the price paid Likes: Location is nice. Dislikes: No staff. Thin walls. Can hear other people's conversations through walls. Large gaps in walls stuffed with dirty paper towels by other customers for privacy. No staff for assistance. No ice machine.

Very clean and beautiful inside

Great looking pictures online and walk in and looks nice. Then you hear the wood floors and people above you with a dog and it took 3 hours to heat up the room. The rain shower head in the bathroom looked nice but worked horrible and water was everywhere. There was leftover hair in the drain and all the dishes and cooking utensils were dusty. The fridge decided to defrost and hot water everywhere. Hard pass for future trips!

Great place! Bring your own toiletries! Likes: Beautiful place, very spacious! Close to shopping and cafes. Dislikes: No staff on site. Started with a half roll of toilet paper and needed more. Sent a message to the 24/7 number and got a message 12 hours later saying thank you, we’ll be sure to make sure housekeeping knows to keep the rooms stocked and if they have to get in the room while were not there, they’ll just let themselves in. We already went to a gas station to get tp by that time. Also, there was no conditioner left in the shower and the shampoo and body wash was low. Check supplies before settling in!

Fabulous apartments but the noise was unacceptable. Likes: The apartment was very well appointed. Modern in style with everything needed for a comfortable stay smart TV, cooking facilities plenty of extra towels and bedding. The bathroom was fantastic with a wonderful shower and great water pressure. The bedroom was spacious with an incredibly comfortable bed. The overall presentation was excellent, clean, modern and in good repair. The staff I did speak to were helpful and polite. Dislikes: It was noisy, unacceptably so in my opinion. Construction work started outside the building before 7am in the mornings which disturbed my sleep every day. High powered tools causing noise and vibration - I'm not sure if this is just a temporary thing or if it is linked to nearby businesses. Hopefully it is not a permanent feature. In addition, the interior sound proofing seems to be non-existent. I could clearly hear every word of the films that the people staying in the next room were watching when trying to fall asleep, conversations were easily overhead, doors slamming and footsteps echoed around the whole building. It was really disappointing and would put me off staying again as you are paying for accommodation for the purpose of sleep.
