The room was magnificent

I was really looking forward to staying here - locals had said it was a newly renovated space. The building that the unit is in was very large (an old mill building) and was nice enough walking in. My room was all the way at the end of the hall, which I didn’t mind to minimize noise/foot traffic. When I got inside - it was tastefully decorated, however, was missing the mark. I have never seen a modern hotel-like place to stay not have a microwave… that was inconvenient. Also, despite checking the provided instructions, the central heat/air was locked in to 68° and it was very warm in my opinion. The toilet had not been cleaned when I first used it. And there was a huge 4-5 inch high “hump” right in one of the doorways of the bedroom that prevented the door from closing - I work at night and like it to be as dark as possible when I sleep/like door to close for privacy. Also the “parking instructions” were NOT clear at all, so I just parked in an unmarked space and hoped for the best.

The only problem I had was the loud music from the restaurant down stairs. It was all I could hear during the day. Otherwise, everything was great.

Property seemed nice but after 9 hours of driving there the Skowhegan by Kasa cancelled on us as we were in transit and left us to to pay a premium an additional half hour away at another hotel No apology other than justifying it was ok because they sent a text

I really didn’t want to hear the construction guys laughing and joking.

New and great concept for the modern traveler, bound to be a model and commonplace theme of the very near future. No reception desk or concierge. Everything done virtually through your phone, including check in and out. Sleek and modern design of this once factory, with incredibly high ceilings. Basement gathering area, with independent office rooms, a gym, soon to be entertainment/theater room. Event space, Oktoberfest outdoor patio bar (hours vary) with a great view of the dam. Days away, to be opened, restaurant attached. Apartments on one side/and above the complex. Now. A couple of shortcomings, which are understandable during completion of the location. Noise was present very early in the morning with construction. You could hear your neighbors, either above or beside your room. Couldn't ascertain which. Bathroom pocket doors, although commanding in size, were incredibly difficult to open or close due to the almost nonexistent handle. Perhaps an alternative can be considered here. Bathroom, although spacious, lacked hooks and furniture to place personal items. These may all be a consideration during the completion of this establishment, but thought to include this information. Stayed in 2 types of rooms (coming and going). Single bedroom with a large and comfortable bed and massive television set, opposite. Second was a suite with a living space and half galley kitchen with induction cookout (2 burners), refrigerator, large counter, cutlery, plates, pots and counter coffee machine. Complimentary canned water in the fridge. Eating space would be at the couch with a large coffee table. Television in both the living space and bedroom. Plenty of parking at the front of the building with a wheelchair ramp on one side and stairs on the other. Based on the style of this concept and rooms, it is wheelchair accessible. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Again, finishing touches may be forthcoming, but all in all, an amazing concept and place to stay. Absolutely recommend for business or pleasure.

Awesome place to stay! Very cool place.. Some amenities seemed to be still in progress but that was fine for us. I do think the bathroom could use better lighting for us women who do our make up and it would have been nice to have had a microwave. Very comfortable place to stay and the asthetics we fantastic. Easy check in and check out. I highly recommend.

Great space, affordable price, and very convenient.

Kasa has potential but needs to work on a few things. The room was not dirty, but dust was clearly visible in multiple areas. A clients first impression is cleanliness of a room. As a person who has stayed in many retrofitted mills at this point the retrofit of this establishment could be promising in years to come. The noise between rooms, levels, and corridors need to be worked on. I do realize this is a building that is still being worked on, but our room had a gap between the brick outer wall and the lower level. Our flooring had a significant gap that allowed lots of light from the lower level at night. This building has lots of potential but still needs lots of work.

This is the 2nd time I’ve have stayed here. This building is new/renovated and still has some growing pains. I got locked out of the front building late at night because Kasa gave me a code that did not work. Also the heat in my room was minimal even though I had it at 80 degrees.

Skowhegan surprise! Pleasantly surprised! Large apartment style accommodations in brand new renovated factory. Very affordable , nice , comfortable accommodations, upscale! Planned for 1 night and stayed 3!best place we stayed at on our 2 weeks in Bermont , New Hampshire, and Maine. Highly recommend!

Great room just needed a microwave

We were in town for my grandfather’s funeral. We were so excited to see The Skowhegan available. The price was very affordable. Our room was perfect. Our view looked right over the damn and the American flag was lit up at night. We would definitely come back again. The only complaint is our code to the main entrance didn’t work. We got lucky on the first night and the employee from the beer garden let us in and the second night we were lucky enough to have a random man that was sitting in the lobby let us in.

Kitchen had a mini fridge and a hot plate beautiful hotel and easy to park

The indoor spaces were beautiful and super clean. Bed was very comfy! The walls weee really thin so we heard all the neighbors and outdoor noise :(

Misses the mark Beautiful property, but misses the mark of a good hotel in several areas. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern, the location is central and walkable to town, the bedding is comfortable, and the bathrooms are nicely appointed. Issues noted at this hotel that would need to be corrected before staying here again are the following: (1) Noise: There is no sound insulation between rooms, you can literally hear every word that is spoken by your neighbor, no privacy whatsoever. The room doors close loudly and the locks make loud noises upon entering. There was a sound machine equipped in the room which helped buffer the noise, but it was not enough. (2) Poor design with no thought given to someone needing to work in the room: The desk chair is too low for the desk making it ineffective for working. The desk chair is also heavy with no wheels so you have to really push it around. There was no plug at the desk or even nearby for a computer, had to maneuver behind the TV to find a plug. (3) Lack of security: The front door remains unlocked during the day even though they give you an access code. This is a security concern since there is no staff monitoring the hotel - leaving anyone to roam around the amenity areas. There were homeless people wandering around town. (4) Inconsistent amenities. Some rooms were missing key items such as mini fridge. Rooms have no microwaves. Not all rooms have stove tops. The hotel has potential.

Over all it was very nice. Could use a few tweaks. Microwave and keurig/nespresso would be nice in the kitchenette. Coffee table was so far from the couch it was unusable so there was no place to sit and eat either. The bathroom was spacious and had a beautiful stone shower but it had 3 different metal types between the shower head, vanity drawer pulls and other bath fixtures. A more cohesive design would elevate the space. I didn’t love that bedding for the pull out sofa was just on the floor in the entry way. Could probably have been put away somewhere. The bedroom was beautiful and comfortable. Contactless entry worked smoothly. Very large televisions which were simple to operate.

The building and rooms are beautiful, however, being an old mill, it is not nearly as quiet as your typical hotel building. Noise carries from one floor to the next, echoes down the hallways, hardwood flooring is gorgeous but carpet does cut down on sound. On top of that, something was wrong with our bed! We couldn't get an early check in so we did not get to our room until after midnight when the wedding was over. We just dropped our bags and went downstairs to the lounge where the party moved to. When we got to bed hours later, it was like sleeping in a hole. The next morning we lifted the mattress and saw thin wooden slats supported by particle board down the center, all broken. They tried to charge me $500! I've never seen a bed made this way used in a hotel, it doesn't seem up to the usage demands of a hotel. After arguing and advocating for myself, they are still charging me $250. I am done fighting it, it's their loss. Basically they got 2 nights out of me when I only stayed one, but I will never stay at any Kasa ever again.

Such a cool property Beautifully designed rooms, historic and incredibly well amenitized I think they’re priced w bit cheaper as it’s new and some things still a work in progress but we loved it Also walking distance to some great food and coffee options Overall the vibe, location and views were insane for such an out of the way spot, could see doing a wedding group here especially with common areas

The good: clean room. Everything was esthetically pleasing. The bad: Staff was via text. And somehow couldn’t read the prior texts so each text I sent resulted in a request for my name and reservation number. In the same conversation, sent literally the same minute as their response. There is no onsite staff. As such, the Building should be locked 24/7. But it isn’t. I had a stove, and dishes, but no way of making coffee despite being provided coffee supplies. No fridge, no microwave. No coffee pot. How was I supposed to get hot water? Make it make sense!?! One tiny trash can in a ‘suite’. None in the kitchen. The Walls are paper thin. Can hear everything.

Nice new hotel in the center of Skowhegan. It gives an upscale and modern vibes. It’s still under construction, but almost done. The room we stayed in was 95% done (no bathroom fan, just a hole in the feminine). The finishings are nice. They allow dogs! The walls are pretty thin, and you can hear everyone coming into the hallway. Also the you can hear people flushing the toilet above you. But bed was comfortable, and shower was nice. Give it 6 more months and things should be more finished and settled in. Will be back!

wow this place is AMAZING! this place is an old mill they've converted into a high end hotel on the first floor and apartments above. You will want to live here! We were highly impressed! If we find ourselves in the area we will certainly stay here again.....out of five stars we give it a 10!

Beautiful renovation and cool space BUT It was obvious that an employee had entered my room and used the bathroom (both lids up, hand towel used) and disturbingly crushed a beverage can and left it wedged behind the handheld shower! Very hard to relax knowing the space had been violated. Also, the clothing rack had been ripped out of the wall. The windows opened onto portasans for a construction site. Not great.

When we arrived the bed was unmade, shower was full of used towels, dishes in sink, ironing board still out used, both trash barrels full. We took pictures and submitted them thru text with kasa. It took over an hour to figure out what we could do. There was no other room with 2 beds, they said we could strip the bed next door and make it ourselves. After oking it with the manager, over an hour later, that's what we did. The housekeeping cleaned it the next morning and said a mix up happened with the cleaning orders. They said we would receive a refund of some sort from Expedia. Brand new hotel, nice place, but we paid good money, is that acceptable? Idk

Great location, priced right, clean and loved the loft decor and had biggest dang door !! We would stay again and again !

Still under construction

The Kasa is a beautiful and well done hotel, however, there is something wrong with the bed in our room. It was like sleeping in a hole.

Fantastic experience here. Room was more than well equipped, bed was perfect, new finishings throughout. Wish more hotels were like this one, highly highly recommend!

Even the private entrance code to room. It was a new experience that was really great. Amazing shower and the bed was extremely comfortable. Would love to return or stay at another Kasa location.

Not great, my room wasn’t cleaned well, still had trash from previous tenant, the dishes and counters were very dusty, no toilet paper was provided.. just an empty roll on the hanger. Location is nice but nothing is open on Mondays so the dining options were very limited, other than fast food. If you have an issue, there isn’t any staff there to resolve the matter. I was offered $10 virtual gift card to go buy my own t.p. Cool concept, poor execution. Im in the area often and but will find another option next time

Brand new room so that was nice, it was very clean. A fridge and microwave was not provided, nor as a garbage can in the main room. Walls super thin so you can hear everything from neighbors next door/ above us. There’s no physical person onsite to request items such as towels. Building still under renovations so I’m not sure it was really 100% ready for guests.
