Great option to a hotel. We stayed 10 days, Dec 20-30.Full kitchen and living, dining, plus comfortable bed, mattress and pillows. We were able to have our two adult daughters over for Christmas Eve dinner cooking together, gifts and then watched a movie.
We know Austin downtown well, the good, the bad and the ugly. It can be gritty and noisy at times, but this location offers a great place to homebase whether just a weekend or longer. It's easy to get around from here. Austin does still have homeless issues, as do most large metros, but it's generally safe, even walking at night. Just use common sense and situational awareness.
It's disclosed in the listing rules, but there is a sound (decibel) monitor in the unit. We received a text xmas eve saying we were noisy, which was an irritating interruption. The windows were open because of good weather. So lots of street noise in addition to our conversation and laughter. Nothing out of the ordinary, but be aware.
