I am at Kasa FreeMoreWest (Charlotte) this evening, and this is the last night of my second stay. I remain perplexed how the reviews can be so positive. The only I reason I tried this place a second time is due to its very convenient location to a person I was visiting in Charlotte (walking distance). Otherwise, I would not have stayed again after the first (poor) experience. The first time I reserved a one bedroom apartment and was assigned to a basic studio. This time, the noise on Saturday night (well after 10:00 p.m. and during their "quiet hours") was awful and nothing has been done despite my reporting incessant dog barking just below my unit. I asked about a late check out (noon vs. 11:00 a.m.) and was advised that there is an extra charge for any checkout after 11:00 a.m.(almost all reputable hotels will offer an extra hour or two at no charge). It's an apartment complex that has full-time renters and those staying for short periods. At the pool today, there was very loud music (competing with the music played by the complex), open vaping, open alcohol consumption, and eating in the pool. No lifeguard or checks of any kind. If you're in your 20s and like loud people and no rules, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! If you like service and some semblance of courtesy for other travelers (more of a hotel experience), this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. If there was better management it could be a nice place to stay. As it is, I won't stay here again. EVER. The apartments themselves are fine (not luxurious by any stretch but comfortable). Certainly nothing exceptional about this place at all. Note: The pool was closed until today due to July 4th parties that resulted in a lot of broken glass in and/or around the pool. That fact should provide a good idea of how things are operated here.
