Kasa LES is exactly as it is described in the listing. We have not met the hosts, but they were always very responsive and helpful. You can get in with codes, the only issue could be that the code is sent 30 mins before check-in time so you must have internet.
The area might seem a bit shabby, but it mostly feels safe. After all it's New York, get used to it. Finding a place in NY that is not noisy is a real challenge, but our room was surprisingly quiet. You can definitely hear the neighbors, but the noise from the street is very well kept out by the window which was a very pleasant surprise.
The place is clean, has all the basics that you need. It's close to metro stations, easy to move around.
I very much recommend it.
