8/10 Very good
Birthday Weekend Back Home in Chicago!
The condo is great. We had the 2 bedroom (well one bedroom and then a den with a bed but it worked out). The furniture is sturdy and comfortable. The place was spotless. I love being able to wash my clothes and carry home clean clothing at the end of my trip. The kitchen was fully stocked, newer appliances. We were on the 13th floor, had a wonderful view from the balcony. The shower worked extremely well, but no adjusting the shower head. I felt like Kramer in the Powerful Showerhead episode. But it got the job done. Lots of supplies already provided, such as dish washing liquid, hand soaps, even cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. Breakdown: Pros - Easy check-in, amazing view, amazing property, nice folks, parking on site and included, all the channels you could wish for on tv, some supplies included such as detergents, etc.
Cons: While the concept is a great one I feel that the Kasa Guest Condos should not be mixed with the residents condos. People are on vacation right above or next to someone who has to get up for work at 6 a.m. How is that going to work? It's not. You will be celebrating near or after the "quiet time" and end up getting a note to your phone or email stating that you are violating noise. In our case we were simply laughing at a comedy stand up show on Netflix. When I am on vacation I want to laugh. I want to laugh in the morning. I want to laugh in the afternoon. I want to laugh at night! I don't want someone telling me that I can get kicked out of any where for laughing. Period.
The parking for guests of guests is non-existent. I was told when one of my friends wanted to come up and have a birthday cocktail with me that I would have to pay $15.00 for less than 12 hours of parking. I said that's fine. Then I got hit with the wammy "you will need to write a check for the $15.00." Wait. What? Who still has checks. Needless to say parking for your guests is over 2 blocks away. They didn't bother and went on their merry way. Again, my guess is the whole 'residential' thing. I get it. I want peace and quiet in my home. I'm not sure how this will continue to mix. Other than those items and my observation we had a blast. We visit often so I'm contemplating whether the good stuff outweighs the hassle. Also I should note that my flight was delayed and they were absolutely super nice and accommodating in letting us hang around a few minutes later than checkout. Shout out to Susie!
