8/10 Very good
Great stay! Great apartment, great location, good value. With serious problems at check in and check out. We'll definitely be back, but next time will expect check in and check out hassles. The problems were all manageable, all eventually resolved, and all should have been avoided.
This is basically corporate housing: a nice newly done 1 bedroom apartment with an office room. Good kitchen: stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, etc. Trying for a hipster vibe (record player in the living room) as envisioned by corporate marketers. The building is full of furnished apartments with one floor run by Kasa. It was really nice and comfortable -- they could use a few more dishes and forks and such, but it was basically great.
And the location can't be beat: right across the street from the Commons/Confluence park. Right on the river. Easy walk to Union Station and to all of downtown Denver. And easy walk over the river to LoHi. Really can't be beat.
Very quiet -- no downtown noise, no highway noise. (Definitely better than the Kasa building on the other side of I-25 where you'd hear the traffic roaring.)
But ... give yourself extra time at check in and check out. We paid for parking in the garage, which was great. Except ... the garage door opens using a pass (like the pass for a toll road). And our pass never worked. This took us a while to figure out at check in. Can we just not follow instructions or is there something more wrong? Eventually someone else let us in the garage. And every time after that, we had to wait for someone to enter or leave in order to get into the garage. The pass was just broken.
And at check out, they locked us out of our room a half hour before checkout. The code for the door stopped working. I'm standing outside the apartment trying to return the (broken) parking pass with half our bags still inside the apartment. And the code doesn't open the door anymore. Luckily my partner was still inside and she could let me in. But, if I'd been travelling alone, I would have been screwed. Presumably if I called the 800 number, sat in a support queue, eventually a Kasa rep would have been able to help me, but c'mon. I'm trying to leave and you've locked me out.
(I corresponded w/ Kasa after the fact and they blamed it on the change away from daylight savings time. Sure, fine, whatever. You locked me out of my apartment before check out time! Not cool. I'd rate the stay as 5 stars, except for these hassles.)
So, we'll definitely stay in this building again. Best stay we've had in Denver. Next time, we'll plan on an extra hour at check in and at check out so we can deal with any problems. But, we're also looking forward to that next time!
