Do not rent with Kasa.
This is not a "true" AirBnB Host. Kasa is a third party company running a hotel chain out of California through AirBnB. If someone asked me if I'd rather be tied up in a bag with one of Denver's saltiest, dumpster raccoons or rent with Kasa? My reply, "How big is the raccoon? Nope. Never mind I'll take the bag."
I'll provide the list of issues and then an explanation of each one:
-Third party Redundancy in booking
-Not the room pictured in listing
-Noisy
-Stained surfaces and bedding
-Spam calls
-Endless messaging and interruptions
-PARKING issue
Third party issues included having to re-enter EVERYTHING (and more) that I provided to AirBnB. They had me create a login for their separate site, enter personal, payment, and agree to more policies. It was like banging my head against a wall. I will admit it was tucked away in the listing details but having never had to look out for those details, it feels sneaky. Also, I use AirBnB to support OWNERS who are helping their mortgage out. Not a big company based half the country away from my stay.
Not the room pictured in the listing. The pics clearly had a room with a kitchen island and different arrangement. Not a huge deal but I planned to have friends over I was visiting for cocktails and appetizers before we hit the town.
Noisy. There was a high pitched whine coming from the locked owner's closet. Also, very little privacy as you could hear anything in the hallway as well as the goings on in other rooms as you walked down the catacomb like hallway. Babies crying and babies being made could be heard.
Stained surfaces. The comforter and headboard on the bed had stains... yummy. Also there was just a chunk of the flooring missing in the bathroom hallway.
Spam calls. Not something that I can prove but food for thought; after entering my phone number into Kasa's website, I received 3-4 "Spam Risk" and "telemarketer" calls a day. Not Kasa reaching out to me (they come across as a CA number).
Interruptions. Kasa sent me messages asking about my stay after I was checked in and dealt with a check in issue (see below) Me: "Vacation yay!" Kasa: "How is everything? Whatcha doin now...". Felt like a bad seller on Amazon hitting me up for reviews.
PARKING. This was, hands down, the worst issue. They listed parking, great! It was in a parking garage, even better! The clearance for the garage parking... 6ft 8in. I'm 6'1" and thought the ceiling felt close. My truck couldn't fit. Called Kasa and Misty (or Missy) said i should download a parking app. On my own. Tried to get some clarity on the whole issue and the reply was, "I'll do my best". So after driving 4 hours I spent over an hour trying to find a garage that could accommodate my vehicle. Then had to PAY OUT OF POCKET, submit a receipt, and then be reimbursed 3-10 business days after my trip.
Darren was the only Kasa representative that was effective. He waived a fee and made sure to communicate clearly with me. That's the only flicker of light in this abysmal experience.
I'll make sure to triple check listings in the future and only stay with owners and will never use Kasa again
