Unique and excellent experience It was a last minute booking due to changes in travel plans and this was a great choice. With their virtual desk they were always available to speak, super helpful, nice and accommodating. Space was super big, clean and nice. Really nice downtown location. Very impressed with the company and team!

Austin stay Loved the location in Downtown Austin! Great to be able to walk to great food and shopping and downtown sites (the state capitol building). A few comfort items (first world problems) I wish the apartment had had included a rug in the bedroom, would have softened the cold concrete floors (we stayed during an cold spell in Austin). Also, would have been great to have hooks to hang towels on in the bathroom (behind the door), there were only bars to hang towels and you run out of space when more than one person is staying there. Overall, we had a great stay and the attendants were amazing and incredibly responsive via text, esp when we didn't have a comforter, they brought one right away! Enjoy the wonderful coffee shop below as well - Jo's coffee.

Great Location, Spacious Apartment Our stay in Austin at the Guild LaVaca St was great. We really loved the space within the unit as well as the balcony. It was very clean & we enjoyed the decor & proximity to great places to eat esp Swift's attic!! I also really loved the privacy that the unit offered and much preferred the arrangement with parking fobs, etc when coming and going as opposed to a traditional hotel setting. Thank u guys for an amazing experience in Austin

Great Place to Stay I would highly recommend this place to stay at if you're visiting Austin. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the lack of parking fee mention in the overview. They were quick to respond about the charge in the middle of the stay and explained that it was for parking, but the fact that there was no mention of parking fees in the overview at the time of booking or after was not ideal. But as I told the contact from the Guild, I don't know if that's due to miscommunication on their part or if it's due to an error in information on Expedia's. Overall though, great place, great location, and great behind the scenes staff.

Apartment style living Wonderful host!! Travelers- be prepared to use your smart phones! This stay is a virtual check in and you navigate your way with fobs and codes. It is worth it!! Great space! Excellent service!!! Would highly recommend over a traditional hotel room.

Good spot This is an apartment in an apartment building, not a full service hotel. Very spacious, clean, and hip, with a full kitchen and living room separate from sleeping rooms. Getting entry is a little different - involves texting with the company rather than checking in to a desk - but not a problem. Neighborhood is very lively and central.

Fun Weekend It is half a block from Austin City Limits where we were attending a concert. Can not get better than that.

Not a hotel! Nice apartment This is not a hotel. You think you are booking a hotel on hotels.com but it is an apartment managed by an online company called the guild. After making the reservation you get text messages from them to make very extensive prearrival arrangements, including you having to send them pictures of your driver’s license and information about you so you can undergo a background check. This is not a hotel-There is no room cleaning, room service etc. it is a spacious, well appointed, comfortable apartment with full kitchen. Well stocked with what you need. After getting over my initial surprise I was quite happy with it.

Great location, Awesome, Comfortable place to stay I booked this spot last minute for SXSW and wasn't totally sure what to expect but other travelers had given positive reviews. I'm slo glad we stayed here. The location was perfect (2nd & Colorado), easy to get around downtown and a short distance to everything on S Congress. The process was seamless from preregistration and arrival to checkout. Communication was simple via text and response time was quick. The room itself was fantastic. We had a great view of downtown, a small balcony and full-kitchen. The place was spotless. The towels were incredibly soft and the bed was very comfortable (so comfortable, in-fact, that I asked for the brand and we ordered one). There's also great places to eat downstairs, convenience stores, shopping. The parking was easy and, once you're in, there's no reason to drive anywhere. I can't think of anything that I would change. I would definitely stay here in the future.

Apartment in the heart of Austin This was a great option for longer stay... more of an Airbnb+ than a standard hotel. It has a washer and dryer with provided detergent, which is great. You wash your towels and sheets if you want them done in between nights... if you want them to come clean while you're staying it's an additional $60 per cleaning. Also instead of a standard room service menu, you text the given number and they will deliver from any local restaurant, which certainly opens up the menu options and usually takes about as long as standard room service. No traditional 'front desk/reception area', but they were very responsive to texts if you needed anything or had any problems/issues. An interesting 'virtual' hotel idea...Would stay at one of these Guild locations again.

Convenient though unconventional choice Everything was great after the check in process. Check in was not smooth. I found out that they needed photos of my drivers license and a selfie of me holding it in order to gain access to the room but was not informed of this until check in time. At that point, I was at a business conference and had my luggage with me and was not really able to take photos and a selfie. They claimed they "had been trying to reach me" but I'm not sure via what channel nor did I have any record of attempts to contact me via phone, email or text ahead of time so I'm not sure I believe them. Seems like a bit of an amateur operation. Letting me know prior to check in that these were needed would have made the experience much better.

Great location. Nice place. Great location. Right next to the river. Many restaurants in the area. Everything can be reached by foot easily.

Great non-traditional unit This is not a traditional hotel, so no daily housekeeping service, etc. It’s a 1BR apartment in a quiet upscale building. The location was fantastic, easy walk/bike to everything, tons of restaurants and music venues close by. The unit was spacious and modern, with a full kitchen, laundry, and balcony. Worked great for our family, kids slept on the pullout couch. Check in process was all via text, but still some nice personal touches (frosted mugs in freezer, free coffee coupon, etc). Bed was comfortable, and street noise wasn’t bad considering you’re right in downtown. One of the best vacation experiences I’ve had.

Service and comfort second to none My stay was excellent! I was initially ambivalent about staying with a smaller operator with whom I would never actually "see" but they dispelled all concerns. From the moment I booked to the time arrived to my checkout, they were communicative and responsive. If I called or texted they answered immediately and made we feel welcome. It was the kind of service I would not have had at a chain hotel. I will definitely stay with them again and spread the word!

Enjoyable stay . Novel concept! Very clean, spacious apartment, beautiful towels and bedding. Not a bright apartment in the morning, a little noisy at night due to street activity and location. Great restaurants nearby. Across the street from Austin City limits music venue. Within walking distances to other music venues and the 6th street district.Overall I recommend it for it's location, easy check- in and attentive service throughout the booking and check in process.

Good location only It is an apartment and not a hotel. Need to be told about all the upfront stuff before hand so you don't have to wait to get to your room

Exceeded my expectations! The apt exceeded my expectations! Huge wrap around balcony; huge living room and kitchen. 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. With a full washer and dryer. Really excellent

Fine for me, not for hosting others I did not personally stay in the room, but had arranged it for a guest out of town. We thought we understood where the building was located, but she ended up going into the wrong entrance and wandering a different building, with no indication that she had made a mistake. This was at night and she nearly booked a different hotel out of frustration. The Guild needs to direct their guests with some form of signage, so there's no doubt about their location. Communication was fine, but it's hard (and often frustrating) to walk someone through the process remotely. I felt unable to help and it reflected badly on me and my organization.

Outstanding accommodations, outstanding location. I have been a long time patron of VRBO/HomeAway, Air BNB, and countless hotels, but Guild Lavaca was something special. the space, decor, amenities, LOCATION, and super speedy WiFi made my stay most enjoyable. I hope i have the opportunity to stay here again.

Would Definitely Stay Again or Recommend! It's in an apartment building and a great downtown location, can walk to many other downtown Austin areas/attractions. If you're looking for hotel things like housekeeping and concierge, this isn't the right property for you, but it was great for me with a nice pool and gym. All interaction is done through text and phone, and they are very responsive.

Great Apartment Great location and close to everything. A few blocks from 6th street. The only 2 things is that they did not disclose a charge of $35 for over night parking & a bit noisy late at night. You could hear noise coming from the bars, people yelling and people walking in the hallway.

Guild you rock! Our stay at The Guild was awesome. Check-in was quick and easy. The place was modern, super comfortable and spacious. Well stocked with extra towels, plates/utensils, toaster and blender. Even came with a record player! Location was great, walking distance from 6th St, a 5 min car ride to every other attraction on our list. It truly felt like a second home. It was my first experience at a boutique hotel, I'm now a fan and look forward to booking with The Guild again.

Beautiful and spacious accommodations. Good location. Good communication. Is like a hotel BNB because is a 1 br condo leased from an apartment complex that is used for hotel guests. Hence, none of the usual hotel amenities are present (i.e concierge, room service, maid service, etc.).

Solid but nothing memorable Given the plethora of very favorable reviews I was a bit surprised at such feedback after my stay. It was good...but certainly not great. The location is ideal (right across the street from the W) on Lavaca and walking distance to many establishments. However, gaining entry after a long day of travel should have been easier as it took some time to gain access to the elevator (it did not allow me to go to my floor after multiple attempts so I was forced to contact the concierge). This said, the room itself was spacious and pleasant with many amenities and a nice balcony overlooking the pool. Adequate accommodations but certainly not exceptional. The W across the street is superior and has a far better fitness facility.

Amazing apartment in Downtown Austin. Very safe and local to great restaurants and coffee shops. Upscale market on the block - so easy to stock up on food and drinks. Apartment itself was clean and the sofabed was firm and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend. The Guild team is awesome to work with!!

Ideal!! Outstanding apartment - modern, clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable - they even had chilled beer glasses in the freezer for me! Wonderful space and perfect situation - near the conference center and close to great restaurants. Communication with their team was excellent. Would definitely go back.

The Guild experience was wonderful. I was able to enjoy a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with all the necessary amenities including a washer/dryer, pool and fitness center for a far more affordable price than a standard hotel room. I hope The Guild expands to more cities.

Excellent. The Guild is always a pleasure to work and stay with. I have only had the best experiences with them. Their buildings are mostly walkable around the city. I enjoy the feeling of being at home each time I travel and they certainly hit the mark.

Worth the Hassle Checking in was a bit of a hassle but once in, it was great. We appreciated the water-dryer and it came with laundry soap. Very well equipped and great location.

Nice property. Received very detailed instructions on how to check in so there was no confusion in doing so. The property is part of an apartment complex so it’s not your standard hotel room. The room was nicely furnished (ours was basically a one bedroom apartment) and very modern. Bathroom had all the amenities you need, bedroom was very comfortable with good quality sheets and pillows. Great location and walking distance to all the great city nightlife. Plenty of eating, lounging, and local shopping downstairs at the street level and even more within a block around. Our only complaint would be that since we were on the second floor, we could hear all the nighttime activity around us, as well as early morning city hustle and bustle of trash pickup and construction. The property provided earplugs for us, and we should have used it. We must have been super tired the second night so we didn’t hear anything that night. I think this is only an issue since we were so close to the street level. My brother, who was on the 5th floor, had no noise issue whatsoever. This was not that big of a deal but just wanted to mention it. Overall, we loved the property and would probably come back, especially if we are staying for an extended stay and want to utilize the kitchen.

Great place. Great rate. Great location This is a serviced apartment, not a hotel, but it is great. Great location. Great price. A suite rather than a hotel room. A bedroom and a living room with a foldaway bed/sofa. Washer and drier. Fridge. Stove. Iron. Free parking and free access to gym. Only missing things were a microwave and an ironing board. No reception desk. No minibar. You pay using credit card over internet, and enter elevator and room using numerical codes received by SMS. You may self cook in kitchenette or just go out. Plenty of food options within 15 minutes walk. This is the heart of Austin downtown.

Great stay The apartment exceeded our expectations, particularly on size. But there was no microwave which we found strange. Everything else was wonderful. We will return, I'm sure.

Went to see Joe Bonamassa at Austin City Limits and by google found The Guild at Lavaca and it was a jewel. We stayed for two nights and found it very comfortable and relaxing to return to! Would rather stay in an condo than a hotel room, also very clean.For us if we are going to spend that kind of money for a place to stay when traveling for entertainment I’d do it everytime. And from garage attendants to the Virtual front desk it was a great experience, thank you!

BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN, SPACIOUS UNIT From check-in to check-out, our stay was seamless and very enjoyable. The location is perfect to walk to restaurants and bars. The pool was nice and not too crowded over the holiday weekend. Lastly, the unit itself was massive and absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be staying at The Guild next time we are in town!

We keep going back! Our stay was amazing! We have stayed at the City Center location in the past but I really loved this location as well - it's very well located downtown and there is so much going on. You are walking distance from great food, drinks, and the water! The Guild has so many amazing properties and is our go-to place to stay when visiting Austin!
