10/10 Exceptional
I stayed for the very first time at a Kasa property. I discovered it from a random video on my YouTube feed about Chicago travel. As I watched the YouTube video, the woman in the video showed the view from her room. I recognized the area she was in by the Catholic cathedral outside her window because I was just in Chicago a month prior and attended Mass there. This is what made me decide to stay here. There are many other reasons, but having the church steps from where I’m staying was key, because I attend Mass regularly.
Things I really liked about this place were that it’s got well thought out niceties with the guests in mind, such as an in-room washer and dryer, full kitchen (not a 2 burner cooktop), with a 4 burner electric cooktop with oven, microwave, nice sized refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, toaster and electric kettle. There are a set of dishes, coffee mugs, and glasses, not to mention an entire knife set, and plenty of cooking utensils, and paper towels and some extra trash bags, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher pods. I’m sure I could be leaving something out!
The bathroom has a shower/tub combo with the tub being very low to the floor. There were 4 extra rolls of toilet paper (I’ve never gotten that from a hotel), some extra trash bags, a box of facial tissue and in the shower there was body wash, shampoo and conditioner. On the bathroom sink there was hand soap and hand lotion. All toiletries are an herbal unisex scent. Lastly, there was a plunger and toilet brush.
There’s a walk in closet in the bedroom area with an extra set of bedding and towels, etc., a tower fan, a set of 7 hangers and a suitcase stand. There’s a coat closet next to the washer and dryer, and it has a small ironing board and iron, a few hangers, and a tiny first aid kit.
The couch in the living area was very comfortable. There was a smart tv that allows you to log in to your entertainment apps (don’t forget to log out before you check out).
There’s a fairly large Aldi in the building on ground level, and a Whole Foods a half a block away. Target isn’t far either. Lots of restaurants and easy access to public transportation, too.
The virtual concierge for check in offers plenty of photos accompanied with easy to follow instructions. Check out was extremely easy, just leave the key fobs on the rack next to the door and leave.
All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
