The location is a little sketchy, but the room was adorable. I had a beautiful view of the historic church next door. The virtual check-in process was very clear and easy to navigate. There’s not much of interest within walking distance if you want to explore Pittsburgh. There also weren’t any local recommendations or area info in the room/lobby. There are a lot of bus stops nearby if you want to take the bus. Don’t count on the fridge — mine was barely cool even after maintenance came and looked at it. I submitted the maintenance request on Monday evening when I arrived, and no one came until noon on Friday. The linen closet, supposed to be available for self-serve restocking, never had washcloths, so I was stuck with two for my eight-day stay. Also, as mentioned by other reviewers, the walls are thin. Each room has a speaker available to connect via Bluetooth, which is nice, but they can get loud and are very bass-heavy, which is not so nice when your neighbors are using theirs in the middle of the night. The hotel provided earplugs, which were not as helpful as I hoped. Also, the only way to use the TV is to cast from an app you already pay for (Hulu, Netflix, etc.) which was disappointing and could be hard to figure out. You can also see which rooms other people are casting to and what they’re watching, which I thought was a bit weird.
