8/10 Very good
Hip, swanky hotel with historical charm
This is a great hotel if you're looking for a space with more character than most chain hotels. The building used to be a YMCA and has lots of historical details. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, as well as a Trader Joe's and a Target if you'd rather go that route. For parking, there's a big lot that charges $1 an hour; you can pay on the meter or through your phone. Parking is free 10 pm-8 am and on Sundays. The actual rooms are clean, well-maintained, and quiet. Visually, they're going for rustic urban chic, featuring industrial details while overall channeling the construction and aesthetic of Shaker meeting houses. They provide a good selection of complimentary coffee and tea, as well as free drink tokens for the bar downstairs. Checking in is entirely contactless and all the information is texted to you. Instead of being issued a key you type in a code on the keypad. If it's your first time doing a contactless check-in like this, look for a ✔️ on the lower left part of the keypad, that will light up the numbers for you. If you're looking for a hotel experience that's a little less generic than your typical chain, you'll enjoy this.
